William Laurence Evans went home to be with the Lord this morning at 0830 hrs Eastern time. He was surrounded by family members, his wife Olive and joined by those who could from around the world on speaker phones.
The family sang hymns that were dear to his heart. During the singing of 'Great is Thy Faithfulness' Dad closed his eyes and quietly slipped away.
We Love you Dad! Thank you for the life you lived, for the way you loved and the way you died. You worked hard at everything you did but now you have rest, peace, comfort and the joy of your Lord. You finally reached the promised land! We thank God for every memory of you and for the wonderful things we learned from you. Now we will turn our attention to celebrating your life and moving your body to its final resting place.
Father God, may we be faithful, compassionate, loving and kind as we move through the responsibilities we have for our Dad! Give us the mind of Christ, let us forgive as He did, let us be servants as He was, and let us care for those around us as He showed us. Amen
